Daniel L. White, Esq.

Managing Partner/ Legal & Business Operations

Daniel began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he tried well over one-hundred bench and jury trials in the city and suburbs of Chicago, IL. He currently advises labels, artists, and music industry executives on policies, label agreements/ deal structures, and estate planning.

In 2009, Daniel took a position as Vice President and General Counsel for TFG, LLC, an international consulting firm for business and individual foreign exchange investors. In 2010, he went into private practice, serving diverse business clients as their general counsel and representing various cities, villages, school districts, government entities and municipal officials and boards as a municipal attorney. Daniel also served as an administrative hearing officer and municipal prosecutor for multiple cities and villages in the Chicagoland area. Daniel recently retired as a part-time educator after 10 years as an Assistant Professor for Liberty University’s Graduate School of Business, where he taught a course entitled, “Legal Issues in Business,” as part of the MBA curriculum.

Daniel is a native Texan, by way of Chicago, and has spent most of his life in Dallas, Texas.

Daniel clerked with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas as a high school student, college student and in law school student. He is an alum of Texas Tech University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Technical Communication and a minor in Communication Studies and of Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he had the opportunity to be the law school’s first African-American graduate.

Daniel is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, the US District Courts in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, the State of Illinois and the US District Court in the Northern District of Illinois.

He is a member of SAGMA( The Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy). Via The Clarion Group, Daniel is registered as an Associate & Label Member of A2IM (The American Association of Independent Music)and as an Inaugural Fellow with The Black Independent Music Accelerator (BIMA) which is a fellowship initiative created by A2IM.

Equasta J. White

Managing Partner & Director, Brand/Product Management

Equasta White is a managing partner of Dallas, TX based Music Management firm, The Clarion Group. She is also one of the managing partners of Clarion Music Publishing Group. She has been in the artist management industry for over 5 years beginning her career working with brand refreshes, A&R strategic planning, music consulting, data analytics & metadata analysis and offering label services.

In addition to managing artists/producers/composers and providing label services she is also a product developer and event manager and these skills are used to effectively prepare artists to “go-to-market”, identify their niche fanbase and garner support from media, radio, and influencers domestically and abroad in an authentic and organic manner . Equasta has been directly involved in the development and release of artist projects in both Gospel, CCM, Christian Hip Hop/Rap, R&B,Rap/ Hip-Hop genres.

She utilizes her B.S. in Psychology, Master’s of Business Management and 15+ years of Corporate experience in Corporate Human Resources, Change Management and Product Development to strategically manage vendors, client demands, and business operations. She is an active certified member of the Pragmatic Institute with formal Project Management & Six Sigma training/ experience. These frameworks are utilized for strategy planning with artists and effectively managing the lifecycle of their career. She is currently in pursuit of her Music Supervision Certification from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is also a member of Women in Music, the global non-profit organization for advancement of women in the music industry and the Guild of Music Supervisors and SAGMA( The Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy).She represents The Clarion Group as a research participant with The Open Music Initiative which is untaken by Berklee College of Music. She also represents The Clarion Group, who is an active Associate & Label Member of A2IM (The American Association of Independent Music). The Clarion Group is recognized as an Inaugural Fellow with The Black Independent Music Accelerator (BIMA) which is a fellowship initiative created by A2IM.

The Black Independent Music Accelerator (BIMA) is a fellowship initiative created by The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) with the intention of fighting for social and economic justice within the music industry by amplifying independent, Black-owned music businesses.
